Costs for Sellers

Costs of clearing title:

  • Discharge fees charged by encumbrance holders
  • Pre-payment penalties if selling the property before the mortgage term is complete

The seller is responsible for:

  • Lawyer or Notary Fees
  • Real Estate Commissions
  • GST and Capital Gains Tax, if applicable
  • Adjustments for Ownership
    This may include taxes and/or strata fees.
  • Capital Gains Tax, if it is an investment property
